SPACE776 Seoul은 오는 4월 11일부터 5월 11일까지 권지안 작가의 개인전 “FLOWERS FROM HEAVEN”을 개최합니다.
FLOWERS FROM HEAVEN은 천국에 있는 아버지에 대한 애도의 서사를 넘어 예술이 어떻게 감각을 통해 사랑과 기억을 확장할 수 있는지를 탐구하는 전시입니다.
이번 전시는 언어로 포착할 수 없는 사랑과 기억, 그리움의 정서를 시각과 청각이 결합된 예술적 표현으로 풀어냅니다.
이번 전시의 핵심은 작가가 직접 노래한 ‘Flower from heaven’에서 출발합니다. 단어를 사용하지 않은 허밍으로 이루어져 있으며, 언어로 설명할 수 없는 감정을 담아냅니다. 작가는 이 허밍의 선율을 다시 회화적 요소로 변환하여, 감각과 기억이 교차하는 독창적인 조형 언어를 구축합니다.
작품 속 허밍의 흔적은 작가만의 조형적 구조로 연결되며, 이는 사랑하는 이들을 향한 정서적 메시지로 기능합니다. 감정의 진동이 화면 위 선과 색채로 확정되는 과정은 단순한 형식적 변환이 아닌, 감각적 의미가 융합되는 새로운 예술적 실천이라고 할 수 있습니다.

단순한 안부가 아닌, 상실을 넘어 지속되는 관계에 대한 성찰이자 감각적 대화입니다.
권지안은 허밍을 통해 흘린 눈물을 화면 위에 스며들게 하며, 사랑과 후회, 감사의 감정을 회화적 언어로 치환합니다.

SPACE776 Seoul is pleased to present “FLOWERS FROM HEAVEN,” a solo exhibition by Jian Kwon, on view from April 11 to May 11.
FLOWERS FROM HEAVEN goes beyond a narrative of mourning for the artist’s father in heaven, exploring how art can expand love and memory through sensory experience. This exhibition expresses emotions of love, remembrance, and longing—feelings that are difficult to capture with words—through a synthesis of visual and auditory elements.
At the heart of the exhibition is the song “Flower from Heaven,” performed by the artist herself. This wordless humming captures emotions that defy verbal explanation. Kwon transforms the melody of the humming into painterly elements, constructing a unique visual language where sensation and memory intersect.
The traces of humming embedded in the works connect through the artist’s distinct compositional structure, functioning as emotional messages to loved ones. The process of translating the vibration of emotions into lines and colors on the canvas is not merely a formal transformation, but a new artistic practice where sensory meanings are interwoven.
"My beloved ones, are you doing well in heaven?"
This is not a simple greeting, but a sensory dialogue—a reflection on enduring relationships that transcend loss. Through humming, Kwon lets her tears flow onto the canvas, converting feelings of love, regret, and gratitude into a visual language.
